What happens to recordings when an account is changed or suspended?
You must have an active Premium GatherPlace account to play or download your recordings.

Downgrading an Account
Since GatherPlace services are paid for in advance, GatherPlace downgrades are effective at the next billing anniversary date on the account. For example, if your billing anniversary date is on the 15th of each month and you downgrade from Premium to Basic features on the 1st of the month, you will continue to retain the Premium features until the 15th when your credit card is billed again. At that time, your credit card will be billed at the Basic rate, you will lose the Premium features on the account and your recordings will be moved to the recordings trashcan and become unavailable for download or veiwing.

Once the downgrade occurs, you will no longer be able to play or download your recordings. Because of this, we highly recommend that you download any recordings that you need BEFORE the actual downgrade date. See this article on how to download your recordings.

The recordings are saved in the recordings trashcan for an additional thirty days after a downgrade so you will have 30 days from the downgrade date (the 15th in this example case) to upgrade to any Premium plan in order to move your recordings out of the recordings trashcan so you can access your recordings again.

Important: You will need to remove all of the recordings from the recordings trashcan once the account is upgraded. Failure to do so will result in the recordings being deleted after the thirty day period.
If no action is taken within the thirty days after the downgrade date your recordings are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

See this article to find out what your billing anniversary date is.

Canceling an Account
Since GatherPlace services are paid for in advance, canceling an account works essentially the same as downgrading an account when it comes to your recordings. If you cancel your account you will still have access to host sessions and view or download recordings until your next billing anniversary date at which time your account will no longer function.

Once your account is canceled and the billing anniversary date is reached, you will no longer be able to play or download your recordings. Because of this, we highly recommend that you download any recordings that you need BEFORE the actual cancellation date.

The recordings are saved in the recordings trashcan for an additional thirty (30) days after an account is canceled so you will have 30 days from the cancellation date to re-purchase a Premium plan in order to access your recordings again if needed (they must be moved out of the trashcan in order for them to be viewable).

Important: You will need to remove all of the recordings from the recordings trashcan once the account is upgraded. Failure to do so will result in the recordings being deleted after the thirty day period.
If no action is taken within the thirty days after the cancellation date your recordings are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Suspended Account
If your credit card payment is declined for any reason, GatherPlace will suspend your account at the time the transaction fails. If your account becomes suspended you will need to re-purchase a Premium service with a new credit card or update your credit card information (expiration date, etc) we have on file before you will be able to view or download your recordings.

Once your account becomes suspended you will have thirty days from the date of suspension to re-purchase a Premium service and move the recordings out of the recordings trashcan in order to prevent the recordings from being deleted and allow them to be viewed or downloaded again. After thirty days of suspension the recordings are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
