Uninstalling and reinstalling GP4
The steps below will guide you through the install or uninstall process for the GatherPlace GP4 software on Windows and Macintosh computers.

To Uninstall GP4 on Windows XP [ Vista & Windows 7 | Mac ]
  1. Go to the Start menu > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs.

  2. Find GP4 Web Conferencing in the programs list.

  3. Select it and click the Change/Remove button.

  4. Select Yes if it asks you to kill the running copy/version.

  5. Select Yes if it asks to remove the preferences.

To Uninstall GP4 on Windows Vista and Windows 7 [ XP | Mac ]
  1. Go to the Start menu > Control Panel > Programs and Features.

  2. Find GP4 Web Conferencing in the list.

  3. Select it and click the Uninstall/Change button.

  4. Select Yes if it asks you to kill the running copy/version.

  5. Select Yes if it asks to remove the preferences.

To Uninstall GP4 on a Mac [ XP | Vista & Windows 7 ]
  1. Fine the GP4 application on the hard drive (usually installed in the Applications folder).

  2. Drag the GP4 application to the trash.

  3. Empty the trash.


To Re-Install GP4 on Windows XP [ Vista & Windows 7 | Mac ]

Note: You must be logged into the PC with an administrator account to install GP4. See this article to find out if you are logged in as an administrator.

  1. Go to: http://www.gatherplace.com/client/ (StudyPlace users please go to the StudyPlace Support website for downloads).

  2. Click the link for the version and features desired.

  3. The new software will download automatically.

  4. Enter your account information if required and click the Validate Account button after starting the new version of GP4.

To Re-Install GP4 on Windows Vista or Windows 7 [ XP | Mac ]
Note: You must be logged into the PC with an administrator account to install GP4. See this article to find out if you are logged in as an administrator.

  1. Go to: http://www.gatherplace.com/client/ (StudyPlace users please go to the StudyPlace Support website for downloads).

  2. Click the link for the version and features desired to download the installer file.

  3. Locate the installer file downloaded in the previous step and double-click it to install the new software.

  4. Enter your account information if required and click the Validate Account button after starting the new version of GP4.
