Using the GatherPlace toll free telephone number for the audio portion of meetings is an optional service available to all existing GatherPlace account holders.
The toll free service is billed at $0.10 per minute for each caller
that dials into the conference call using the toll free number.
The cost is billed to the host's GatherPlace account.
- If the host uses VoIP to connect to the meeting, and one (1) guest dials in using the toll free number, the cost to the host would be $0.10 per minute for the duration the guest is connected to the phone call, or the host ends the meeting.
- If the host and guest both dialed into the toll free number, the cost to the host would be $0.20 per minute ($0.10 per minute for the host and guest each).
All of the GatherPlace teleconference services; toll, toll free and VoIP, are bridged together.
This enables everyone to connect to the audio portion of a meeting using any of the methods that the meeting is configured* to allow and they will all be audibly connected together.
For example, if a meeting is configured to allow toll and toll free access, the host and guests can use either the toll or toll free numbers to access the audio portion of the meeting regardless of which number the other participants dialed into.
Similarly if a meeting is configured to allow only toll and VoIP access, the host and guests can dial into the toll number or use their computers (VoIP) to access the audio portion of the meeting regardless of how the other participants connected.
*Each meeting can be configured to allow different audio options. The available options depend on the type of GatherPlace account (Basic or Premium) and if the host has chosen to add the optional toll free access to the account.
